How to enable claude.ai to make phone calls

Let Claude on claude.ai place real phone calls: allow one domain, upload the Tuvoz skill, and sign in once per chat. Claude watches the call and answers the voice agent's questions.

Install

Paste this into claude.ai:

Set up Tuvoz: https://tuvoz.io/agents

Your agent follows tuvoz.io/agents. Step by step for people: connect claude.ai.

Who this is for

You use Claude in the browser or the desktop app, not a terminal, and want it to make calls for you. claude.ai runs the Tuvoz skill in its code sandbox, so setup is a file upload and two settings instead of an install command.

Step by step

Setup in 4 steps: in Settings then Capabilities turn on code execution and allow api.tuvoz.io, download the skill zip, upload it in Customize then Skills, then say Set up Tuvoz and sign in.

When you paste the line, Claude reads the setup page and walks you through these steps. The clicks are yours:

  1. Turn on code execution. In Settings, then Capabilities, turn on “Code execution and file creation”. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner may need to do this.

  2. Allow Tuvoz’s API. In the same place, check network access. If it’s limited to package managers, choose the option that adds specific domains and add api.tuvoz.io.

  3. Download the skill from tuvoz.io/skill/latest. It’s a zip with one folder, phone-call.

  4. Upload it. Go to Customize, then Skills, click “+”, and choose “Upload a skill”. Pick the zip.

  5. Sign in. In a new chat, say “Set up Tuvoz.” Claude runs the sign-in in the sandbox and shows you a link and a number:

To connect this agent to Tuvoz:
      1. Open https://tuvoz.io/activate?code=BKTW-4821
      2. Sign in with Google (and finish setup if this is your first time).
      3. When asked, pick the number 47.

Open the link, sign in with Google, and pick the matching number. The first time, you’ll also verify your mobile number and confirm your legal name, which is the name the voice agent says on calls.

Repeat step 5 in each new chat where you want to make calls. Then make the test call below. You’ll hear the opener and the recording question a business would hear. It’s billed like any call (at least 30 seconds) from your 15 free minutes. Free plan includes training on your calls.

How a call works on claude.ai

  1. Ask for the call in plain words. Attach anything useful, like a confirmation email.
  2. Claude shows you the brief, the number and where it came from, and the opening line, and waits for your yes.
  3. It runs tuvoz watch <call_id> repeatedly; each run waits up to 45 seconds and returns at once when something happens.
  4. When the voice agent asks a question, Claude answers from what’s in the chat, or tells Tuvoz to call you.
  5. At the end, Claude reports the outcome and offers the transcript.

Your first test call

Ask claude.ai for a test call, or have it run this. Tuvoz calls your own phone; the first time, it asks you to press 1 to confirm you agree to AI calls on that number.

Example prompts

  • Set up Tuvoz.
  • Call Luigi's Trattoria at (415) 555-0142 and ask if they can seat 6 tonight at 7. If not, ask about 8.
  • Here's my order confirmation (attached). Call the store at (312) 555-0177 and ask when it will ship.
  • Make a Tuvoz test call to my phone.

Limits and caveats

  • Sign in once per chat. claude.ai's code sandbox doesn't keep credentials between conversations, so each new chat runs the sign-in again. Each new claude.ai sign-in revokes that account's claude.ai keys older than 24 hours.
  • Code execution must be on (Settings, then Capabilities, then "Code execution and file creation").
  • The sandbox must be able to reach api.tuvoz.io. If network access is set to package managers only, add api.tuvoz.io as an allowed domain.
  • On Team and Enterprise plans, network access is off until an owner turns it on.
  • Each check on a live call is a tool call, so long calls use more of the conversation than in Claude Code. Short errands work best.
  • To update the skill, download the new zip and upload it again.
  • Tuvoz calls US numbers only. Calls to businesses and other people go out between 9 am and 8 pm in the called number's time zone; calls to your own phone, including questions during a call, aren't limited to those hours.

FAQ

Why do I have to sign in again in every chat?
The code sandbox starts fresh in each conversation, so there's nowhere to keep the key. Signing in takes one link and one number tap. To keep your key list short, each new claude.ai key revokes that account's claude.ai keys older than 24 hours.
How much does it cost?
$0.12 a minute, billed per second, with a 30-second minimum per answered call leg, including calls to your own phone. You start with 15 free minutes. Free plan includes training on your calls.
What if I close the chat during a call?
The call keeps going. If the voice agent has a question and Claude isn't checking in, Tuvoz calls your verified phone, asks you, and passes the answer back into the call.
Does the business know it's an AI?
Yes. Every call opens by saying it's your AI assistant calling through Tuvoz, and asks before recording. If they say no, the call ends and Tuvoz keeps nothing they said. Our AI voice provider processes their words live to run the call and may keep them for a limited time for abuse monitoring, as our Privacy Policy explains.
Is there a connector instead of a skill?
Not yet. Tuvoz launched as a skill plus a REST API, with no MCP connector.
